You'll work directly with the CTO on the core backend, owning real production systems that run live AI interviews at scale. ## What you'll work on - AI Interview Pipeline: LiveKit-based telephony and video interviews using speech-to-speech models (GPT-Realtime, Nova Sonic); resumable interview state, auto-callback on disconnects, scoring pipeline - Resume Assessment: AWS Bedrock ML pipeline for resume extraction and scoring; improving reliability and reducing latency across the inference chain - Sourcing Engine: Candidate ranking models transitioning from heuristic to ML-based rankers; autopilot background search agents per role - Infrastructure: PostgreSQL (Neon), FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, AWS S3/Bedrock; resolving production issues and hardening system resilience - Agent Architecture: Claude Managed Agents, MCP integrations, CLI tooling for a developer-first hiring product ## What we're looking for - 4+ years backend engineering experience - Strong Python — FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, async patterns - PostgreSQL — connection pooling, query optimization, migrations - AWS — S3, Bedrock, general cloud infra - Experience integrating LLM APIs and working in ML-adjacent pipelines - High ownership mentality; comfortable in a small, fast-moving team ## Nice to have - Real-time audio/video experience (LiveKit, WebRTC, Twilio) - ML pipeline experience (training, inference, evaluation loops) - Task queue experience (Temporal, Inngest, Arq) - Background in HR tech or interview tooling ## Compensation Competitive salary + equity.
