Job Title: Dental Financial Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Dental Financial Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the office and is essential in the financial health of our dental practice. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual who can provide top-notch customer service while effectively managing patient accounts and insurance claims. As a Dental Financial Coordinator, you will serve as the primary contact for patients regarding financial arrangements, billing, and insurance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify patient insurance benefits and ensure accurate information is recorded in the patient management system.
- Prepare and present dental treatment plans, including cost estimates, payment options, and financial agreements to patients.
- Process insurance claims promptly and follow up on any outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Maintain accounts receivable, track patient balances, and coordinate payment collection to optimize cash flow.
- Communicate effectively with patients to offer solutions and alternatives for financial inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with the dental team to facilitate a smooth patient experience and resolve insurance discrepancies.
- Monitor and follow up on denied or unpaid insurance claims, appealing where necessary to secure payment.
- Prepare regular financial reports and participate in meetings to discuss and improve financial procedures and patient handling practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental or medical billing and insurance processing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, coding, and insurance procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Demonstrated proficiency with dental practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
